Principle design
The principle design feature at Parkside is undoubtedly the sweeping curved staircase that serves as the architectural centrepiece of the entire residence.
This meticulously designed concrete marvel not only acts as the principal access point across all floors, but also stands as the defining feature of the property’s aesthetic. The bespoke 5m window, gracing almost the entire height of the staircase, illuminates the core of the house, seamlessly tying together all levels with a play of natural light.
A testament to meticulous planning, every facet of the staircase was purposefully crafted. The aperture openings were strategically altered to amplify the visual impact, particularly when facing the main entrance. This design choice enhanced the drama, creating a captivating and striking effect.
Principal structure
The principal structure, constructed from pre-fabricated case concrete, was assembled off-site, facilitating concurrent installation with the construction phases and eliminating the need for additional scaffolding.
As the construction journey progressed, the staircase’s treads received special attention, being clad in bespoke engineered flooring. Each tread was hand-stained to match the nuanced floor finishes throughout the property. This intentional choice of materials ensures that the staircase doesn’t merely connect spaces but serves as a unifying design element, seamlessly blending various styles into a cohesive whole.
The handrail, intricately laser-measured to follow the precise curvature, boasts spindles individually crafted with a gun metal patina. The finished product is a completely unique staircase that not only provides functional access but also stands as a work of art at the core of the property’s design.
Central opening - bocci lighting
Within the central opening, a carefully chosen Bocci Lighting pendant finds its perfect placement. The selected pendant design allows for specific height placements, creating a mesmerising cascading effect through the central void. This thoughtful addition further elevates the aesthetic appeal of this distinctive architectural feature, turning the staircase into a visual symphony that resonates throughout the entire residence.
